The 2SLGBTQI+ (Rainbow) Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub ("REKH")

The 2SLGBTQI+ (Rainbow) Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (REKH) is a national initiative, led by Co-Principal Investigators Dr. Glynnis Lieb and Dr. Michael Lounsbury, dedicated to understanding and addressing systemic barriers faced by 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs across Canada. For the past two years, REKH has brought together entrepreneurs, service providers, and researchers to co create knowledge, connect, and work together on tools and resources that reflect the realities of 2SLGBTQI+ business owners. Key outputs include a bilingual national resource database, research publications, and practical, accessible tools to support business success. This work also informs our national gatherings, including the upcoming conference, “Making a Life, Making a Living 2,” taking place November 12 to 14, 2026, with future conferences planned. Guided by principles of collaboration and inclusivity, REKH operates through multiple committees and is supported by a diverse network of national partners and an advisory council representing communities across Canada. REKH advances a more inclusive vision of entrepreneurship that expands beyond traditional measures to prioritize equity, access, and opportunity for underserved communities.
